• Peter Panagotacos, M.D.

    Dr. Panagotacos has been a leading practitioner of dermatology for over 40 years, with a primary specialization in medical dermatology as well as hair restoration and hair transplantation.

    He obtained his medical degree from Georgetown University in 1968, completed his medical internship at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco in 1969, and his dermatological residency training at LSU Charity Hospital in New Orleans.  He established his dermatology practice in 1974, after practicing as a major in the U.S. Army.  He has also acted as an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) for over 35 years.  He is the head of Dermatology at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco, and has directed the section for 20 years.  Dr. Panagotacos carries the distinction of being a respected national and international lecturer for hair transplantation.  

    Dr. Panagotacos is a San Franciscan.  He also has a home in Dafni, near Sparta in Greece, where he planted olive groves in 1987.  The groves produce top-quality olive oil that is imported to the United States under the brand
    Lykovouno Olive Oil Company, which Dr. Panagotacos founded and for which he serves as CEO.  He also maintains a historical home in Santorini, Greece.  In addition to his olive oil, his hobbies include saving the Mbuti Pygmies ( pygmyfund.org ), going on paleontology digs, and collecting vintage cars.

    Dr. Panagotacos’s memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Hair Restoration Surgery, the America Hair Loss Council, and the International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons.

  • Samuel Ellison, M.D.

    Dr. Ellison earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Singapore in 1975.  He then trained in internal medicine at the University of the Health Sciences / Chicago Medical School.  He additionally completed residency training in emergency room medicine  and pediatrics.  Dr. Ellison finished his dermatological residency at the University of Washington in 1986.  He is a clinical instructor of dermatology at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF), and is affiliated with California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) Davies campus, and St. Mary’s Medical Center.

    Dr. Ellison enjoys the arts, music, and world travel.
